Throw pretentiousness out of the window, forget about being too school for school, this is a track. I was trawling youtube on a musical journey recently when I came across this little classic from Bronski Beat. Ye, you’ve heard Smalltown Boy, who hasn’t? But what about this one?
This song may be from the 80’s and fashion may not be ultimately in it’s favour, but surely it’s worth looking kindly on this song. It’s a guilty pleasure admittedly, but nothing like as shabby as some X Factor or reality, Stars In Their Eyes wannabe tosh. My tune of the day!

The video has some really stylish and cool dance moves displayed by office workers in an empty room, whilst the band play on a 70’s style TV! Yeasayer’s track ‘O.N.E’ is an electronic gem really which has slipped under most people’s radar. The song was from the band’s second album and was released March 23rd 2010 and only reached #190 in the UK chart. The song which also featured on one of the popular Fifa games has a great Disco up beat feel to it. Be sure to check out their Facebook for more info…

Ray Manzarek, a founding member of 1960s rock group The Doors, has died at the age of 74.
The keyboard player died in Rosenheim, Germany, with his family at his bedside following a battle with bile duct cancer.
He and singer Jim Morrison formed The Doors in 1965 after a chance meeting at Venice Beach in Los Angeles.
The Doors’ original line-up, which also included drummer John Densmore and guitarist Robbie Krieger, was only together for a few years and made just six studio albums.
But the band retained a large and obsessive following long after Morrison’s death, aged 27, in 1971 of a suspected heart attack.
They sold more than 100 million records, with songs such as Light My Fire and Riders On the Storm still considered “classic” rock favourites.
Here is one of our Favourite tracks by The Doors.
DFA duo Holy Ghost! are gearing up to release a new album called Dynamics, their first since 2011’s self-titled debut. It doesn’t have a release date yet, but it does have a lead single, “Dumb Disco Ideas”. Here’s the video, directed by Ben Fries, in which a full band’s worth of instruments take on a life of their own on a New York City rooftop.
Yesterday, DFA Tweeted, “dumb disco idea #1 – release brand new single called “dumb disco ideas” day after world gets new daft punk stream.”
The first time I saw Seasick Steve perform ‘Down On The Farm’ on Jools Holland I knew I wouldn’t be able to get the fierce riff out of my head. It will appeal to fans of ZZ Top for sure! When I searched the net for the video to post the Jools performance I cam across this video which features Seasick Steve himself dancing to the track with his guitar. Well I couldn’t control my laughter at his dancing and I am sure you will enjoy his performance as much as the song!
Down on the Farm is from Seasick Steve’s latest album “Hubcap Music” which was released on the 29th April 2013!
